Many of us love a stunning cat eye, but we just don’t know how to achieve this look ourselves. It’s all too easy to create a crooked line that looks uneven or too thick. Fortunately, you can do it yourself without a lot of effort. Here are seven steps to create the perfect cat eye.
1. Start With A Dot
Start by placing a dot on the outside edge of your eyelid. You’ll use this dot to guide you as to how high you will draw the slant of the cat-eye. For a slight curve, draw the dot just above the eyelid. If you want a large slant, place the dot in between your eyelid and eyebrow.
2. Draw A Line To The Inner Edge
You will then need to draw a line from the dot along your lash line to the opposite edge. Go slow so that you don’t create an uneven line. Pull the skin of your eye taut to create a straighter line. A straight eyeliner is the foundation of the perfect cat eye.
3. Draw Another Line
Your first line should be fairly thin. To create a dramatic look, you need to make your eyeliner look fairly thick. You can do this fairly easily by drawing another line right above your first one. Make sure these lines touch each other as you don’t want any space. They should look like one thick line and not two thin lines.
4. Make A Crescent
Use your eyeliner to make a crescent that extends out from the dot you created. You need to curve the line up slightly to get the cat-eye effect.

The line should look like a small crescent.
5. Fix Any Mistakes
Your cat eye probably won’t be perfect on the first try. That’s okay! You can easily fix your mistakes. Dip one end of a cotton swab in make-up remover. Rub this end of the cotton swab around the edge of your cat eye. The make-up remover will remove any mistakes, and it will clean up your work so that it looks very sharp.
6. Move On To The Other Eye
Once you’ve made the perfect cat eye on one of your eyelids, it’s time to move on to the other. Use the same process that you did before. You may find that it’s a lot easier than the first time.
7. Add A Bit Of Eye Shadow
If you really want to highlight your work, add a bit of eye shadow. Use a small make-up brush to apply it, and put the eye shadow just above your cat eye. Don’t press down too hard, or you could inadvertently smudge its edges.
With these tips, you can create the perfect cat eye. Just remember that it’s okay if you don’t get it right the first time. With a little bit of practice, you will be able to perfect it in no time at all.
